The Krka River is a magnificent karst beauty, traveling two thirds of its way to the sea through canyons. In these canyons lies the town of Skradin which is the oldest Croatian town. The name comes from the time of Roman rule – Scardona. The city is known for its turbulent 6000 year old history. Visit its historical sites such as the Church of Our Lady, the bell tower, St. Spiridon Orthodox Church and the Church of St. Petka and Jerome.
Skradin is an attractive tourist destination next to the Krka National Park with a nautical marina, which is alluring to many boaters, from which one can go by turist boats to an attractive destination such as Skradinski Buk. Going to Skradinski Buk one can visit one of the most attractive parts of the park. It is a spectacular waterfall, made up of a series of 17 cascades plunging over 40 meters into a a rich, clear and massive natural swimming pool. From Skradinski Buk one can also travel by tour boat to the island of Visovac and the Roški waterfall. Roski is also possible to visit by the local roads from Skradin.
